Topic: M&A From a Strategic Perspective
Insights from Bob Kafafian, Chairman and CEO, and Rich Trauger, Managing Director, of The Kafafian Group

What is driving the increase in community bank M&A activity this year? What has happened to bank earnings and community bank valuations? Will bank M&A deal volume and value continue to increase? The FDIC reported that as of March 31, 2021, there were 4,978 insured banks in the U.S., a 35% decrease since 2010. Transaction volume in M&A in June, when annualized, results in a 6.3% consolidation rate – meaning at this pace there would be less than 3,200 banks in just 7 years. Bob Kafafian and Rich Trauger share their insights on what’s driving bank M&A, valuations, predictions for the future, and how banks can best prepare for the challenges ahead. Listen and enjoy!
