Mike Butler has an outstanding track record of delivering growth and driving innovation. Prior to Mike’s role as CEO of Grasshopper Bank, he was the CEO of Radius Bank (“Radius”) which was one of the first community banks to embrace fintech partnerships. Mike transformed Radius which was a traditional community bank with $591 million in assets in 2008 to one of the most tech forward banks in the country. Radius built virtual banking capabilities including product and service capabilities and developed strategic partnerships with fintech firms to deliver robust banking as a service (BaaS) offerings. Mike was instrumental in Lending Club’s acquisition of Radius Bank which closed in February 2021. It was one of the first deals where a fintech acquired a chartered financial institution. The newly named Lending Club Bank had approximately $3.3 billion in assets as of March 31, 2021. Mike left in April 2021 and joined Grasshopper Bank in May 2021 to lead Grasshopper’s transformation into a client-first digital bank built for the business economy with leading-edge technology, solutions-driven products and superior service.
